pocket-friendly alternative to the traditional medical aid schemes. A dignified combination of quality
healthcare and pricing within the reach of any citizen was their only aim. Their hospital cover plans are
underwritten by African Unity Life.
Day 1 Health offers four hospital cover plans to suit

more than five visits in a year, a co-payment of R75 is required. If your GP refers you to a specialist, you
have cover for treatment there. But specialist treatment is covered to a limit of R500 per annum. And this is
only if the referral was done by a 1Doctor Health Network GP.
Also included in this Day to Dayplan is basic dentistry.
This includes procedures such as preventative cleaning and fillings. You get cover for one eye test only and a
pair of spectacles every two years.
In the event of the death of a spouse or child, you will
get a payout from this policy. There are limits for compensation for death of a child. If the child is over 14
years, it will be R1,000 only. If they are over six years, the sum is R5,000.
